The ayes have it. Or should that be the i-s have it. For anytime we see i-something on a new product in the loading bay here at gadgetshop HQ, we strongly suspect it might have something to do with the now ubiquitous iPod. We also strongly suspect that anyone who by now does not have one has, quite simply, thought about it but decided against.
However, if you're one of the millions who now have an iPod and have become dangerously addicted to its crisp, clear sound, you may become slightly frustrated when the battery decides to run out in the middle of you getting down to your block rockin' beats. Enter the the i3G Power Station.
Now don't be fooled by the name, we're not suggesting you cart around an entire power plant in your boot. No, this particular power station is somewhat more portable, fitting neatly into one's pocket. The i3G is a handy pocket-sized iPhone or iPod backup battery pack.
It's rechargeable via the same USB cable that you use to charge your iPhone or iPod and gives loads of extra backup power for when you're on the road, abroad, locked in the loo, or any other time when normal charging facilities aren't available.
The i3G incorporates a rechargeable Li-ion polymer battery that can give up to 250 hours extra standby time, up to 5 hours talk time or up to 20 hours extra music playback time. Your iPhone/Pod just plugs straight into it, as if it were a docking station, and as it's wireless and compact, you can even carry on using it as normal.
And when you do find somewhere to plug in, the i3G Power Station can even be plugged in with the iPhone/iPod attached so that both the Power Station and the iPod or iPhone can replenish their battery reserves.
